1) Alleghe › Alleghe

Description

Circular route in the heart of the Dolomites, riding most of route of the famous gran fondo: La Maratona.

We will start with the long and spectacular climb of Passo Pordoi. From the summit, we will ride over 2 chained mountain passes: Passo Sella and Passo Gardena, with stunning views during the whole ride. Long descend to Corvara in Badía before facing the last climb of the day: Passo Valparola.

A stage with extremely high mountain passes, most of them over 2000m of altitude, and riding through clasical dolomites towns like Arabba, Corvara in  Badía and Alleghe.

2) Alleghe › Alleghe

Description

Second circular stage through the heart of the Dolomites. Our first climb today is one of the colossus of the Dolomites: Passo Giau, one of the key climbs in the Giro d´Italia.

After a long descend, we will arrive in the famous town of Cortina d´Ampezzo. You will have the option to go straight to our last climb and just have a short stage: Passo Falzarego to come back to Alleghe.

For the most adventurous, there will be another 2 climbs but extremely hard ones: Tre Croci and the infamous Tre Cime di Lavaredo, with slopes peaking over 20% gradient.

3) Alleghe › Bolzano

Description

Today we will leave the town of Alleghe and we will start heading to the capital of Trentino and towards the most important cities of the north of Italy.

To start the day we will have to cross the hardest mountain pass of the stage: Passo Fedaia, better known as La Marmolada, a legendary mountain pass of the italian cycling scene.

Amazing descent towards Canazei and we will hit the second ascension of the day: Passo Costalunga.

You will have the option to go straight into Bolzano or hit the last optional climb of the day: Obergummer and ride its spectacular descent.

4) Bolzano › Bormio

Description

Long stage with 2 different parts. A first one practically flat bordering and going up Adige’s river until Prato.

From here, climb to Coppi’s summit route and one of the toughest climbs in Europe: The dreaded and spectacular Passo dello Stelvio. (2758m.)

From the top, fast and long descent towards the end of stage in Bormio.

5) Bormio › Bormio

Description

Short but demanding stage enjoying the hills around the city of Bormio. We will start with the ascent to the spectacular Lago di Cancano also known as Torri di Fraele.

At the end of the descent, we will head towards the Swiss border through the long Passo di Foscagno and its more than 2000m. of altitude.

We descend by the same road and we will digress to the first optional climb of the day: Forte di Oga with an unbeatable view of the city of Bormio.

Return to the hotel, and and for those who still reserve forces awaits the last challenge of the day to the ski resort of Bormio 2000.

6) Bormio › Bormio

Description

Hardest and biggest stage of the Epic Dolomiti. This is a classic stage of the Giro d´Italia with the ascension of 2 of the mythical cols of the region: Mortirolo and Gavia.

Long and steady descent towards Mazzo de Valtellina, where we will climb one of the most infamous climbs of the Dolomites: Passo Mortirolo. 12kms, more than 1200 meters of positive ascent, and slopes going over 20%.

Short descent towards Ponte di Legno, where will start the second big mountain pass of the route: Passo Gavia, a climb that will take you over 2700 meters of altitude with spectacular views.

Long descent towards Bormio, where you will arrive and celebrate the finish of your Epic Dolomiti Trip!

Terms and conditions

  • This route is a NON competitive event, there are no timed sections or any price for arriving first.
  • You must comply with the rules of the organizer.
  • All participants must respect and follow all the traffic rules, as we ride in open roads
  • Accesible route to any cyclist with a reasonable level and experience.
  • This route requires participants to have GPS devices to follow the route. From the organization will be enabled tracks.
  • There are optional climbs to suite all cyclist levels.
  • Limited entries.
  • We must respect the environment: it is strictly forbidden to throw away rubbish outside the feeding stations.

 

  • It is mandatory the use of the helmet.
  • This trip requires that all participants are covered against accident and proffesional liability insurance. It is included in the inscription price. (it´s NOT included your mandatory travel insurance).
  • Booking end date: 20 May 2019.
  • You authorize Barcelona Bike Tours to use any photography or filming in their promotional and marketing material
  • Barcelona Bike Tours declines all responsability on the personal or material accidents that the participans could occur, as well all the accidents they could get involved.
  • The organizers reserver their rights to limit the number of available slots, as well to modify this terms and conditions. As well the organizers will have the rights to modify the route in case there are personal risk to any of the participants.
  • The organizers will not refund any amount after the deadline date: 20 May 2019.

Information

Booking your trip with Barcelona Bike Tours and join EPIC DOLOMITI 2019 is easy and safe. Follow these instructions:

  1. Read our terms and conditions.
  2. Fill in our booking form. Once you have completed it, press send and you will see a confirmation message on the screen.
  3. You will receive an email from Barcelona Bike Tours with all the details you have need to make the payment of our booking fee: 500 euros.
  4. Once we have receieved the payment of the booking fee, you will receive an email confirming your booking.
  5. You must make the final payment before the 20th of May.
  6. Once you have made the final payment, you will be ready to join us in the adventure of your life.

Cancellations Policy

  1. You will receive a refund of 80% of the payments made up 50 days before the event.
  2. No refund will be issued after the last 50 days before the start of the trip.
